Barnaby Little Miss Wiggles

Bracken (aka Kode) is my heart and soul dog. Although shown for a while she never enjoyed it and I made the hard decision she wasn't quite the quality I was looking for to breed on from. However, she's doing really well at agility and her lighter frame means she can zoom round the course faster! We're both having great fun training and competing. Now that I'm back in New Zealand I'm also looking forward to working her through the Canine Good Citizen programme.

Bracken's the kind of dog you can do anything with. She'll play gently with pups; in fact she helped me raise some orphaned pups that I fostered when she was only 9 months old herself. If another dog starts a confrontation with her she'll just walk away. She didn't bat an eyelid when I bought chooks and let them free range in the backyard, or when I raised ducklings - even though she'd never previously been around them. She can often be found curled up asleep with the cat, being his preferred cushion!

She is super super easy to train, if she does it once she pretty much has it sorted. She's my 2nd labrador and the first dog that I've trained further than basic domestic obedience, so I've made a few mistakes with her, but she's been very forgiving and willing to relearn things I've taught her wrong. We've dabbled a bit with obedience and now that Rally-O has been introduced in NZ I'm looking forward to having a shot at that since she has now been retired from agility.
